Mindfulness: Quality Time

We can all begin again.

Dear readers... I've been so busy lately. I bet you have been too. It's just a fact of the world as we know it. And with fall coming and the holidays, things seem unlikely to slow down.

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris Bueller's Day Off

It's easy as a busy parent to have a day, or two, or more- where we haven't been able to be as present as we'd like with our children and our partners (if we co-parent). The ANTs, or automatic negative thoughts, can creep in and give us a pretty stern scolding. We tell ourselves we're doing a bad job, failing, or absent.

At BeWell Baby, we teach a mindful approach that offers up gentleness and grace. Notice your mind has strayed, and begin again. Choose to notice and to start over, but not to judge.

You are doing the best you can.

Take a few moments to drop into your body. Breathe in and out. Give your children a hug and a squeeze, or crawl into bed together and blow raspberries and tickle them and kiss their feet. Go for a walk and hold hands. Have an unhurried dinner together. Let them lead you around the house or yard, and follow their curiosity. Take the long and winding path they choose around the neighborhood. Just be.

Join us to learn our mindful techniques for modern parenting, and how to incorporate simple practices into your day to maximize joy and connection.

Until then-- may you be well!
